Established in 1943, Hokusei has been a leading distributor of aluminium products in Japan. It is a group company of Nippon Light Metal Company Ltd., which is listed in Tokyo Stock Exchange (5701)

1943	Hokusei Aluminum was established. Hokusei was the No.1 aluminium related housewares company in Japan.
1978	Established Hokusei Metal Co., Ltd. as an authorized distributor of Nippon Light Metal.
1997	Established Hokusei Products Co., Ltd. to process metal products.
2001	Started processing high purity aluminium.
2002	Started producing design metal products.
2004	Moved the office to Wing Wing Tower in April.
2008	Tokyo Office was established
2009	Collaborated with Sanrio and start planning Hello Kitty products.
2011	Established Hokusei Europe AB, a subsidiary in Stockholm, Sweden.
2013	Established Hokkaido Branch
2014	Established Okinawa Branch

Hokuriku Light Metal Industry Co., Ltd. (HLMI) was established in 1943.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The company was listed in Osaka Stock Exchange in October 1961. Its share price exceeded 300 JPY. HLMI was the largest manufacture of aluminium products and materials with over 1,000 employees.

In the same month, Emperor Akihito and the Empress Michiko visited HLMI. They were interested in aluminium plates which came out from a rolling machine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

HLMI produced and sold kitchenware such as pots and kettles throughout Japan.

Later, HLMI established a subsidiary, Hokusei Metal Co., Ltd., in 1978. This is the beginning of the Hokusei Group.
